Therapist Kristell Engram is a Licensed Associate in Marriage and Family Therapy and is in the process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist. Kristell received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2012 from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kristell is experienced and passionate about working with young children and their families on various issues including behavioral, academics, mood, and attachment concerns. Kristell also has experience working with individuals, especially women struggling with eating disorders, self-esteem issues, anxiety, postpartum depression, and parenting concerns; she can also provide guidance for those dealing with life-stage changes. Kristell also enjoys working with couples and helping them navigate through relational issues as well as assisting them in premarital counseling.
As a marriage and family therapist, Kristell had the opportunity to work with different populations struggling with various issues. She has worked at an all female eating disorder facility, outpatient setting working with children that struggled with behavioral issues, attachment problems, school concerns, and other issues. Kristell currently works at a non-profit agency working with children, families, and couples who need guidance in various aspects of their lives.
Kristell encourages a collaborative therapeutic alliance to help clients in their journey towards change and healing. She focuses on helping clients navigate through challenging times and assist clients in creating new, healthy, and fulfilling experiences. Kristell is committed to creating a safe environment that is non-judgmental and warm in order to allow clients to openly share their concerns. Kristell believes that each client is unique, therefore she uses an integrative approach to meet the client’s needs. She has been extensively trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and play therapy. Ultimately, Kristell is committed to the client’s personal growth and change in order to improve their whole being. Counseling in Spanish is also available.
